Synopsis:
Reimagining Health, Safety, and Racial Justice in Andersonville

Please join us for this very special event facilitated by The Care Plan in partnership with Dynamic Cooperative and the Andersonville Chamber of Commerce! The Andersonville Chamber of Commerce is hosting a Racial Equity Symposium on Saturday, November 5 from 9AM-4PM at the Chicago Waldorf School located at 5200 North Ashland. Lunch will be provided by The Dinner Belle.

The community is invited for this FREE one-day collaborative learning environment designed to engage business owners, employees, and community members in conversation and to reflect on Anti-racism work and inclusion, with an emphasis on supporting participants to explore the meaning of community health and safety through trauma-informed approaches to racial justice.

The Breakout Sessions will occur from 10:45-12:15AM:

Breakout Session #1: Trauma Informed Communication: the key to active listening is to build trust, connectivity and accountability between businesses, consumers and community members.

Breakout Session #2: From Representation to Retention: Centering Marginalized People

This workshop will discuss why representation is so key at all levels of organizational leadership, best practices for building a culture that centers marginalized people, specifically BIPOC folks, and tips for recruitment and retention.
