Our History
Flourish Chicago (Andersonville) began as Great Lakes Clinical Trials in 2013 and served as the company’s flagship research center. It was founded by Steve Satek, former President and CEO, and employs 30+ full-time staff, including 4+ investigators, and 12+ research coordinators. Our Chief Medical Director, Jeffrey Ross, M.D. utilizes his extensive research experience to lead Great Lakes’ team of board-certified doctors, nurses, and clinical researchers. The opening of the site brought clinical trials to the North side of Chicago, a traditionally underserved and diverse population of over 1.5 million. Backed by 30 years of clinical research experience, Satek and his team have come to specialize in the study of investigational medications, food products, and supplements for the treatment of chronic diseases, notably in metabolic disorders, Alzheimer’s disease, psychiatry, and infectious diseases. Additionally, the organization is driven by a diverse and inclusive community of passionate people who are committed to improving the quality of life of communities.
